Phabrix makes US and Asian move
Phabrix has inked a distribution deal with Leader instruments for its Sx range of handheld monitoring devices throughout North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. The agreement follows Phabrix's debut at NAB earlier this year. Under the terms of the distribution deal, Leader Instruments will provide marketing, sales, service and customer support for the product.
"We think 3G-SDI is the new opportunity for Test & Measurement. [The Sx] is very agile across multiple standards and can generate one standard and analyze another. We're very focused on the broadcast market and clearly there is a massive need for [this type of product]," Phillip Adams, managing director, Phabrix said.
He added: "Having Leader Instruments as our Americas distributor has added the kind of sales and support network that would have taken Phabrix many years to create."
Commenting on the deal with Phabrix George Gonos, VP of Sales and Marketing for Leader Instruments said: "The PHABRIX SxA satisfies a long standing demand for highly portable instruments for Leader's pro-video customers – from mobile operators to facility maintenance professionals and equipment manufacturers, everyone is excited about the fully loaded yet affordable Phabrix SxA. We are impressed at Phabrix's ability to include a state-of-the-art 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI generator along with picture, waveform, vector and data analysis functions in this highly portable."
Phabrix has also appointed TekMark Group as its exclusive Asian distributor for the company's Sx range of handheld products across Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.
The Phabrix SxA combines a generator, analyser and monitor. The devices also offer 3G capabilities.
Commenting on the appointment, TekMark Director of sales, SC Wong said: "We are very pleased to be granted the exclusive distribution of the PHABRIX range in our area of South East Asia. The Phabrix SxA fulfils the need in the market for a very cost effective, portable device with high specifications for the test and measurement market. Our region of the world is expanding rapidly and new technology deployment such as HDTV is on its way to realization. The SxA is applicable to many markets, not only broadcast and it is this opportunity which the TekMark Group will develop in the months ahead."
