Pinnacle, AP Combine Newsroom Systems

Pinnacle Systems and the AP are combining their broadcast newsroom systems, the Vortex and AP Electronic Newsroom Production Systems, to increase access speed to news assets, including text, video, graphics and stills.

Vortex customers who use ENPS to manage news production can now browse Vortex information in EPNS applications. Pinnacle supports the MOS protocol, which extends interoperability to broadcast production systems including the line of Pinnacle Thunder clip server and Deko on-air graphics products.

Vortex is also interoperable with AP's SNAPfeed video transmission software, which lets broadcasters in the field ingest video into their laptops and then optimize the transfer of the material into the newsroom, making it accessible to Vortex editors.
