Pinnacle Sells Team Sports Assets to XOS Technologies
Pinnacle recently sold its Team Sports assets to XOS Technologies, developer of performance analysis products for sports teams.
Team Sports is comprised of former coaches, players and general managers that manufacture sports-related media products.
The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Dan Aton, president and CEO of XOS Technologies--based in Sanford, Fla.-said there would be no immediate layoffs, but that there is some overlap in staff that Aton is evaluating. XOS Technologies plans to expand the technology from the locker room out to the fans, making content available via streaming video on the Internet and to build upon game analysis by coaching staff.
Aton also sees HD in the near future.
"Football will be the first to go into high definition, we're working towards that. We realize that HD is here to stay and teams are already starting to ask for it," Aton said.
The product offerings for 2005 are already established, but Aton expects to start planning for HD soon.
