Hollywood post facility Post Logic Studios has purchased the Digital Vision DVNR image processing system to support its Digital Intermediate (DI) and feature film mastering operations.
The system supports 2k data over HSDL and all standard video formats used in postproduction. DVNR systems provide real-time throughput in video modes and 15fps speed in HSDL mode. The system incorporates Digital Vision's latest generation motion-compensated film grain management system, fully automatic film dust and dirt concealment, as well as aperture correction.
The system uses the latest PHAME Motion Estimation algorithms to support subtle as well as aggressive processing and does not generate unwanted artifacts.
This new capability will allow Post Logic to offer customers high quality cleanup of film dirt, dust and random scratches in both 2k and video domains. In addition, the system's grain management capabilities will allow Post Logic's colorists to match the look of film grain from shot to shot, including compensation for under-exposed footage.
