Prism Sound uses the Web to reduce its carbon footprint
Prism Sound is reducing its carbon footprint by using Netviewer Web seminar software to demonstrate and support its test and measurement products online. One of the first clients to benefit from Prism Sound’s investment in Netviewer is India-based Tata Sky.
Tata Sky is currently testing the output performance of its set-top boxes to ensure they meet stringent quality specifications. To this end, the company recently invested in a Prism Sound dScope Series III audio analyzer, which the R&D department is using to check audio quality. The analyzer offers a comprehensive measurement system for analog and digital audio generation and analysis, including digital audio carrier testing and testing of Windows-based sound devices, combining a Windows PC (XP and Vista) software application with an external high-precision audio I/O processor for equipment-under-test (EUT) connections. Tata Sky ordered a dScope Series III after Prism Sound conducted an online remote demonstration using Netviewer software.
In addition to enabling long-distance product demonstrations, the Netviewer software also allows Prism Sound technicians to assist clients from afar, linking with their local computers to help resolve any setup issues they may have after delivery of a dScope Series III unit. Beyond convenience for both parties, the use of Netviewer allows Prism Sound to reduce its corporate carbon footprint by eliminating the need to travel while delivering effective after-sales support.
