PureVision Loft shows off HD plasma TVs as part of viewer education effort
Pioneer Electronics has opened a 2200 sq.ft. loft in Manhattan’s Chelsea district to showcase high-definition plasma television with other integrated home theater video and audio electronics.
The centerpieces of the PureVision Loft, are Pioneer’s newest plasma television designs ranging in size from 43- to 61in.
The PureVision Loft is part of a broader effort to educate consumers about the availability of HD plasma televisions and other home theater products. According to the company, a recent Consumer Electronics Association survey revealed that while 60 percent of U.S. TV viewers had heard of the initials “HDTV,” there still remains a great deal of confusion about the specifics.
In the fourth quarter of 2004, Pioneer plans to spend $15 million in marketing support to help people understand what to look for when purchasing a high-definition television and why HD content is the wave of the future.
