Quantel is ready for HD transition
Quantel introduced at NAB2005 its new Eiger software for the company’s eQ and iQ systems for post and DI.
Eiger comes standard on all new Quantel eQ and iQ systems, and is also available free to all eQ and iQ customers with current QCare contracts.
Eiger compositing tools include new process tree ergonomics, motion sensitive blur, layer blend modes and a new mesh-based warper.
The new software includes Quantel’s new UniKey system. UniKey is a multiformat, multi-color space precision keying toolset. New software algorithms are powered by Quantel hardware and resolution co-existence and dynamic rounding technologies.
The QColor option for eQ and iQ is an existing DI grading system. Eiger builds on the new set of HSL-based tools and ergonomic enhancements. Live pan and scan is now supported along with output image masking, making multiformat versioning even simpler.
With Eiger, eQ or iQ users can apply an LUT, mask the output image and perform on-the-fly pan and scan live at full resolution and in real time without the need for proxies and with no new media created.
For editing and conforming work, Eiger adds new functionality, with Keycode conform, network navigation and audio time stretch and compress tools.
