Retina, a San Francisco, Calif., company opening May 1st, plans to use the IQ to do all film to tape transfers in high-definition.
The iQ can work in fully uncompressed video of any resolution - in realtime. It eliminates the need to convert or compress, so there is never any loss of quality. Once the editing process is complete, select the output format, and iQ does everything else.
It's realtime format conversion includes SD, HD and 2K material in the same project. Users can work with multiple formats within the same project. Multiple versions of a product can be made in different aspect ratios and formats without taking up storage space.
The iQ also includes timeline editing, gestural editing, fast retouching and an integrated CG which allows users to add rolls, crawls and captions in realtime.
