Quantel Taps JVC for HD2K Projector
Quantel has recently purchased a JVC projector to demo its iQ digital intermediate system at IBC in Amsterdam. Quantel purchased the projector in April and used it at its NAB booth in Las Vegas.
The JD2K uses HD D-ILA chips, which achieve the look and feel of cinema film, according to the company. The two-part system is comprised of a projector head containing three native 1920x1080 and a digital video processor and upconverter.
Steve Owen, group marketing manager, Post and DI at Quantel said the plan is to install the unit in the company's digital theater alongside a traditional film projector. "The HD2K is easily integrated with the Quantel iQ and is accurately configured using iQ's real-time 3D look up tables," he said.
