Quantel to add full HD-RGB option to eQ
Quantel has introduced a new option for Quantel's eQ editing/effects/grading/mastering system — full HD-RGB handling alongside its existing HD-YUV capability.
eQ offers its users the choice of full-quality HD-RGB and full-quality HD-YUV signal handling.
The release of the HD-RGB option coincides with a move in the mainstream HD market toward 4:4:4 image handling thanks to developments such as the Sony HDCAM-SR. HDCAM-SR uses only mild compression to store the full 4:4:4 HD-RGB signal data, providing the industry with a viable way of moving high-quality, high-resolution digital images around.
eQ offers its users the choice of full-quality HD-RGB and full-quality HD-YUV signal handling, allowing users to choose the most appropriate format for each job rather than being forced down one path or the other by the technology.
The HD-RGB option for eQ will be available in May.
