QuStream Corp. has announced that Telefónica, the largest telecommunications company in Spain, has chosen the Cheetah XR routing matrix for use at the headend of its Imagenio IPTV over ADSL service.
Populated with 1024-×-512 crosspoints, the Cheetah XR is located in the fibre-optic switching centre at the company's Madrid headquarters. The router was supplied and installed by QuStream's master distributor for Spain, Madrid-based Eurocom Broadcast.
"Telefónica already has a QuStream Tiger matrix", said Hugo López Díaz, key accounts manager at Eurocom. "It performed very reliably, hence the decision to invest in the Cheetah XR which combines an impressive technical specification with an accountant-friendly price".
