RadioShack, American Library Association announce joint DTV education effort
RadioShack and the American Library Association (ALA) announced June 10 a nationwide initiative to help educate the public about the DTV transition.
Through this partnership, RadioShack's 4500 company stores and many of the 1000-plus participating franchise stores will offer knowledgeable employees to 16,000 ALA public libraries to host educational sessions for library patrons.
The information will include why the digital television transition is occurring, the benefits of DTV, what people need to do to continue receiving over-the-air television broadcasts after the transition and how to apply for DTV converter box coupons.
