Rainbow Media Holdings LLC has selected Scientific Atlanta's PowerVu digital content distribution systems as part of the analog to digital transition of North American affiliate program delivery.
"Our analog-to-digital content distribution transition is a major benchmark in our program delivery timeline and we knew we could depend on Scientific Atlanta's people and products to make this as seamless as possible for our affiliates and us," said Steve Pontillo, Rainbow Media's senior vice president. "We've dealt with Scientific Atlanta from our earliest days and have come to rely on the video expertise and high-performance products and systems they have constantly provided for us."
Rainbow Media uplinks from Bethpage, N.Y. and will be providing more than 6,000 PowerVu receiver/decoders to the cable systems that distribute the program service's content.
