Riedel Intercom System Tagged for Use at Live Earth Concert
The day-long Live Earth concert broadcast at New York’s Giants Stadium on July 7 will be supported by Riedel’s Artist Digital Matrix intercom system.
According to the event’s live sound support provider, Firehouse Productions, the size of the event and time limitations led to the choice of Riedel equipment.
“We’re using Riedel equipment because it’s the best tool for the job,” said Mark Ditmar, vice president at Firehouse Productions. “Our first load-in day is also our first soundcheck day, and that, on a three semi-truck show, is a tough pace. Being able to get massive amounts of I/O where you need it--and not having to wire everywhere--is extremely important. You can run incredibly long distances without any loss of sound quality, and it sets up very, very fast. With the Riedel equipment, there are no hums or buzzes, because it’s on fiber-optic cable.”
Coverage and support of the Live Earth event will involve the interfacing of 13 trucks outside the stadium and will employ three networked frames of Riedel Artist 64 equipment. The setup will also involve Riedel’s Digital Partyline system and the use of more than 30 Riedel C3 digital two-channel beltpack stations.
