Rohde & Schwarz introduce hardware decoder option for DVM family
Rohde & Schwarz has unveiled an optional hardware decoder for its R&S DVM family that decodes video and audio signals contained in the transport stream, allowing users to identify the programs and view and assess picture quality.
The new decoder is suitable for both SD and HD formats. In addition to MPEG-2, it supports the H.264 coding standard. By means of the buffer analysis function, users can additionally test signals to determine whether they are in accordance with the MPEG standard.
Various displays can be connected via numerous interfaces, including HDMI. The R&S DVM400 has a screen for displaying the unit’s graphical user interface. The decoded picture can also be directly shown on that display.
