Rose Parade Gets the Hi-Def Treatment
Los Angeles' WB affiliate KTLA-DT will broadcast the 115th annual Rose Parade on New Year's Day in HD beginning at 6 a.m. with "Backstage at the Parade" followed at 7 a.m. by the "Parade Countdown" and then the parade itself.
KTLA will distribute the Rose Parade national HD feed to Discovery HD! and internationally on Canada-based CityTV. WB affiliate KRON in San Francisco and the Travel Channel will transmit the analog version.
For the fifth consecutive year, KTLA will be the only Southern California station to produce and air the Rose Parade in HDTV. KTLA provides the parade with a commercial free closed-captioned broadcast simulcast in Spanish.
KTLA will use Sony HDC-900 and HDC-950 cameras and Dolby E for AC3 5.1 Surround Sound audio signals.
