RTNDA warns journalists to avoid appearance of unethical behavior
By TVTechnology
published The RTNDA has reminded its members that its code of ethics warns journalists not to participate in “activities that may compromise their integrity or independence.”
The association issued the reminder in the wake of an MSNBC.com report listing the contributions to political candidates or causes by 144 journalists.
"Appearances count," said RTNDA president Barbara Cochran. "Journalists should avoid actions that undercut perceptions that they are acting independently and with integrity."
The association’s code of ethics is available at www.rtnda.org/ethics/coe.html.
