S-A Taps itaas For Broadband Interactive TV
Scientific-Atlanta is working with itaas in an effort to develop broadband interactive applications. The companies are using itaas' istart Application Developer Program, designed to provide an entry point for application developers who need set-top client development tools and support, and S-A's CreativEdge Developer Program.
Application developers who sign on to istart have access to a software developer kit that includes PowerTV operating system, S-A's resident application and an Explorer set-top, along with technical support and documentation.
"We recognize that application developers have a variety of needs based on the type of interactive applications they provide as well as their stage of development," said Kevin O'Brien, S-A's business director. "This agreement with itass delivers a focused program for developers that need a set-top client development environment."
