Sacramento PBS adds Multiformat Hitachi HD Units
KVIE-TV, the PBS member station serving the greater Sacramento, Calif. market (DMA 20), has chosen a trio of Hitachi SK-HD1000 cameras for its main studios. The HD units, said Hitachi, are multi-standard, multi-format studio/field cameras equipped with Canon HD studio lenses.
KVIE-TV ("PBS Channel 6") produces several live weekly and monthly programs for the Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto region in the state capital.
Designed primarily as a "full-feature, purpose-specific" production camera, Hitachi said the SK-HD1000 provides high sensitivity, high-resolution, low-noise 2/3-inch IT-CCD (charge-coupled device), in a two-piece dockable camera body that can be re-configured for other purposes, such as field work.
SK-HD1000's CCU output is 1080i or 720p switchable, PAL or NTSC, analog and/or digital.
