Satellite Update
The FCC granted PanAmSat Licensee Corp.'s request to launch and operate Galaxy 17. The C and Ku-band satellite will replace Galaxy 11 at 91 degrees west longitude. PanAmSat received a special temporary authorization to allow operation of Galaxy 17 at 81 degrees WL in the C and Ku-bands and to conduct telemetry, tracking and control operations. The STA is valid for 21 days, starting May 16, 2007.
EchoStar Satellite Operating Corp. received authorization to operate a DBS service from EchoStar 12 using channels 23 and 24 at 61.5 degrees WL for 180 days, starting April 4, 2007.
Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. received STA to operate an indoor repeater with an EIRP up to 200 watts at the BMW National After Sales Conference in Las Vegas. The STA was valid during the conference, from April 27 to May 1, 2007. The information is from FCC Report SAT-00439.
