Satellite Update
The FCC accepted an application from XM Radio Inc. requesting special temporary authority to operate one terrestrial repeater at less than 2 kW EIRP at weekly PGA Tour events occurring at various locations from July 1, 2007 through Dec. 16, 2007. XM Radio said it would operate the repeater subject to the conditions placed on similar grants of STA at other PGA Tour events. This information is from FCC Report SAT-00444.
The FCC granted a request from XM Radio Inc. for STA operate indoor terrestrial repeaters with EIRP of up to 0.5 watts and up to 0.0001 watts at various events--such as promotional events, press events and trade shows--for a period of 180 days. Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. was granted STA to operate a terrestrial repeater with an EIRP of 0.0001 watts at its annual stockholders meeting in New York City from May 21 through May 24. Intelsat North America LLC received STA to conduct space station telemetry, track, control and monitoring operations during the relocation of INTELSAT 602 from its current location at 150.5 degrees east longitude to the 157 degrees EL location.
