Satellite Update
The FCC granted, with conditions, EchoStar Satellite Operating Corp.'s request to amend and extend its special temporary authority (STA) to operate on DBS Channels 23 and 24 at 61.5 degrees West Longitude (WL). EchoStar was also authorized to temporarily suspend programming and customer notification restrictions previously placed on the STA, which was granted for 180 days, from Oct. 2, 2007 to March 31, 2008.
Hughes Communications Inc. was granted STA to operate the SpaceWay 3 satellite at 94.95 degrees WL in the 29.5–30.0 GHz and 19.7–20.2 GHz Ka-band frequencies to provide in-orbit testing and to conduct telemetry, tracking and command operations on SpaceWay 3.
