Satellite Update
The FCC granted PanAmSat Licensee Corporation's request for special temporary authority to continue operating the tracking, telemetry and command payload on Galaxy 3R for 30 days for tracking and to perform end-of-life maneuvers to boost the Galaxy 3R satellite into a disposal orbit above the geostationary arc. The STA requires PanAmSat to coordinate all orbit raising maneuvers involving TT&C operations with adjacent geostationary satellite operators to ensure they create no unacceptable interference. When Galaxy 3R is within two degrees of an existing geostationary satellite operating in the Ku-band, PanAmSat will not be allowed to conduct TT&C operations unless it successfully coordinates the operations with the affected satellite operator.
PanAmSat received STA to re-point the Southeast Asia downlink beam on the PAS-5 satellite to New Zealand. PAS 5 is located at 166 degrees east longitude. With the exception of this change, all other conditions in the original PAS 5 authorization remain in affect.
