Satellite Update
PanAmSat Licensee Corp. requested authority to continue to operate its PAS-9 satellite at 26.15 degrees EL until Sept. 28, 2008. The current license for PAS-9 expires on Jan. 2, 2007. EchoStar Satellite Operating Corp. filed an application to modify its authorization for the EchoStar 1 DBS satellite at 148 degrees WL. EchoStar requested permission to operate in the 12.2-12.7 GHz (space-to-Earth) and the 17.3-17.8 GHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands. Its existing authority expires on Nov. 26, 2006. EchoStar requested the authority to operate EchoStar 1 at that location be extended for an additional period of 10 years, to Nov. 26, 2016. EchoStar filed a similar request for a 10 year extension of its authorization for EchoStar 2, also at 148 degrees WL. This information is from FCC Report SAT-00400.
