Satellite Update
Only one application was listed in last week’s FCC International Bureau’s Report SAT-00533.
Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. requested special temporary authority to operate one terrestrial repeater at an EIRP at or below 200 watts and one or more terrestrial repeaters at power levels of 0.0001 watts EIRP indoors at various trade shows occurring between Aug. 19, 2008 and Jan. 25, 2009. In the application, Sirius stated that these repeaters are necessary to carry out equipment and service demonstrations where signals from satellites and other repeaters are not available.
AtContact Communications withdrew its request to relocate its authorized satellite from 121 degrees west longitude (WL) to 115.2 degrees WL.
The FCC granted a request for transfer of control of six satellites from DirecTV Enterprises to Liberty Media Corp.
