Satellite Update - Feb. 27, 2009
From FCC Report SAT-00582 and FCC Report SAT-00581:
The FCC granted special temporary authority (STA) to Intelsat North America LLC, allowing it 30 days, beginning on Feb. 20, 2009, to conduct the telemetry, tracking and command operations with the Galaxy 26 necessary to drift it from 93.0 degrees west longitude to 50.75 degrees east longitude.
Sirius XM Radio Inc. received STA to operate two terrestrial repeaters, each with an effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) of up to 800 watts at the Delphi Corp. manufacturing facility in Kokomo, Ind. The STA is valid for 60 days, beginning March 17, 2009. The repeaters allowed in this STA replace previously authorized Sirius repeaters. One repeater will operate in the 2320-2332.5 MHz band (Sirius) and the other in the 2332.5-2345 MHz band (XM).
