SBE, SMPTE Chapters Donate to Memorial Fund for Victims of Phoenix Helicopter Crash
The Denver chapters of the SBE and SMPTE are donating to memorial funds for the employees of Phoenix TV stations KTVK and KNXV that were killed in a helicopter crash on July 27.
Chapter 48 of the SBE and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of SMPTE have made donations to the memorial funds, which were set up by M&I Bank and Wells Fargo Banks. "We in the broadcast community were truly saddened by the loss of life in the tragic helicopter accident of July 27," the chapters said in a statement accompanying the donations. "Our colleagues from KTVK and KPNX will be deeply missed. As broadcasters from a neighboring state, the members of the Rocky Mountain Section of SMPTE and SBE Denver Chapter 48 would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the families of Jim Cox and Scott Bowerbank of KTVK and Craig Smith and Rick Krolak of KNXV. In memory of these four fallen colleagues, our chapters are honoring each with a donation to their memorial fund."
