SBE to host regional expo next month
The annual Chapter 20 Society of Broadcasting Engineers Regional Convention and Expo "Riding the Explosion" will take place Oct. 20 at the Radisson Greentree Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA. The Exposition runs from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is free.
The expo will provide practical information, hands-on demonstrations, technical seminars and workshops. Technical seminars and workshops will cover nearly all aspects of the broadcast and production scene.
Attendees can have breakfast with Mark Schubin and listen to his presentation, " What is HDTV and Who Can See It?" The breakfast cost $5.
The expo will also feature two, three-hour workshops that cost $20 each for SBE members and $40 for non-members. Mark Bell will present an ENG safety seminar, "It Can Happen to You!", from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Gary Thomas will present a lighting workshop from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. focusing on the fundamentals of lighting for TV studios and video conferencing. Proceeds from the lighting workshop will be donated to the SBE - Ennis Scholorship Fund. Advanced payment and registration required.
