Scientific-Atlanta names new head of Media Networks
Scientific-Atlanta has selected Dean Rockwell to head its Media Networks business.
Rockwell has been named vice president and general manager. In his new role, Rockwell will use the expertise acquired while serving for four years as vice president and general manager of Scientific-Atlanta's Headend Systems Division in Atlanta.
Rockwell manages a Media Networks team of research and development, product management, sales, marketing, service, program management and manufacturing professionals in Atlanta, GA. and Toronto, Canada, with additional responsibility for product management and research and development in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Prior to joining Scientific-Atlanta in 1993 Rockwell worked for Nexus Engineering Corporation in Vancouver, Canada, where he spent time in engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations and product management. Rockwell graduated from the Electrical Engineering program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1987 and later went on to study business management at Simon Fraser University. Both schools are located in Canada.
Media Networks was formerly directed by Sam Lim who has moved into Scientific-Atlanta's Subscriber Networks sector as vice president and general manager. Along with the sector's president, Lim will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Subscriber Networks.
