Sennheiser to Mic Live 8 Concert
Sennheiser mics will be on stage to bring crisp sound to the crowds at this weekend's Live 8 concerts worldwide.
The RF and microphone specialist will equip all the events with wireless microphone and monitoring technology for the concerts in London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Philadelphia, and Barrie in Canada. The concerts, which commemorate the twentieth anniversary of Live Aid, were organized to raise awareness about poverty in Africa.
The company will assist with frequency planning and provide on-site support, working with local sound companies at each of the events and investing more than 1,000 man hours. The gear includes more than 300 channels of Sennheiser wireless microphones, guitar systems and wireless monitoring systems and more than 1,000 wired mics will be used for lead vocals, kick drums and more.
Sting, U2, Stevie Wonder, and country stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will be just some of the many performers at the concerts that will be held before the G8 summit in Gleneagles, Scotland July 6-8. The first concert kicks off July 2.
