SGL storage selected by Rotana TV
Software Generation Ltd (SGL), a provider of video archiving management solutions, has been selected by the world’s largest Arabic Music Production company and Arabic Music Channel, Rotana TV, based in Beirut, Lebanon, to provide digital storage as Rotana moves to a tape-free environment.
The installation, which was managed and delivered by Sony Professional Services, will see SGL supply Rotana with its storage software, SGL FlashNet Archive, which provides the link between video stored as files on a video server and the tape library that serves as the long-term repository.
SGL FlashNet Archive will supply the glue between Pinnacle’s MediaStream 900si-8 servers and Harris Louth automation control. SGL FlashNet Archive also controls a Sony CSM-200BS PetaSite and four Sony SDZ-100 SAIT drives. Program scheduling is supplied by IBIS Traffic Management. The complete solution provides Rotana with an all-digital storage solution designed to communicate with its existing studio facilities in Beirut and Cairo.
