The surge in independent motion picture production in Philadelphia has created increased demand for high-end post production and mastering services that conform to moviemakers' budgets. Shooters Post & Transfer has responded with the addition of a Sony HDCAM SR SRW-5000 VTR to its facility in Old City, Pa.
In the two months since being installed, the SRW-5000 has already produced RGB digital intermediate (DI) transfers for motion pictures originated on film and color-corrected in the facility's Spirit Datacine and Discreet Fire suites. Over the past 15 years, Shooters has built an infrastructure to support a large volume of high-end commercial post production with five Discreet Logic Fire suites, four Avid Media Composer Adrenaline suites, three ProTools HD Accel suites, Spirit and DaVinci 2k, plus film transfer and color correction systems and additional technology supporting HD, 35mm and other video and film formats.
Since its introduction in 2004, HDCAM SR has been adopted as a mastering and recording format for feature motion pictures, including the recently released "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith " and "Sin City," as well as an array of prime-time TV programs.
