Signasys Receives Experimental License for 2 GHz Digital ENG Courses
The FCC has granted Signasys Inc. of San Jose, Calif., experimental license WD2XWX to operate in the 2025 to 2110 MHz band for digital electronic newsgathering technology training. The license is valid in all 50 U.S. states as well as U.S. Territories. Other experimental licenses on the FCC list of experimental actions between 3/1/2006 and 4/1/2006 of interest to broadcasters include a license allowing the City of Seattle to use the 776-782 MHz band, which is TV channel 65, to operate a mobile data system in Seattle, WA. Lockheed Martin Corporation was allowed to use 160, 195, 230, 265 and 300 MHz "for pulsed propagations [sic] to test component lifetime and conduct EMI and EMC tests." The 195 MHz frequency falls in TV channel 10.
