Sinclair Continues Master Control and Branding System Upgrades With Miranda
Sinclair Broadcast Group has selected Miranda's channel branding equipment for a rebuild of the master control facility at WSMH (FOX 66) in Flint, Mich. The design and installation of the new master control operation was completed by AZCAR USA, which supplied the Miranda products as part of its long-standing relationship with Sinclair. The WSMH installation includes the Presmaster 2 HD/SD master control switching and channel branding panel, and the Imagestore master control and channel branding processor.
"We have incorporated Miranda's Presmaster and Imagestore combination into master control configurations at other Sinclair stations with excellent results, so it was a natural choice for our newly upgraded Flint facility," said Del Parks, vice president of engineering and operations at Sinclair Broadcast Group. "With the addition of this Miranda equipment within its rebuilt master control room, WSMH has some of the most advanced equipment available on the market. We're excited about creating a better-quality picture and offering even better service to our viewers in the Flint area."
"We find that Miranda produces very sound products that integrate smoothly with other broadcast systems," continued Parks. "We look forward to working with Miranda in the future on new products and enhancing the older products currently in use at Sinclair stations."
John Luff, AZCAR's senior vice president for business development, added, "Miranda is an important supplier to AZCAR and our clients. Miranda's innovation and technology are key to the success of projects like this one for SBG."
The Presmaster 2 is a full-featured master control switching and channel branding panel, capable of controlling up to 200 transmission channels in total. It offers operators an integrated color touch-screen panel for exceptional ease of use and outstanding channel branding capabilities. The Imagestore processor provides the entire breadth of mixing and on-air graphics capabilities required for dynamic and engaging presentation, including video and audio mixing, clip playout, dual 3D-DVEs, animation/clock insertion, and automated character generation.
