Sinclair, Cox reach retransmission deal that includes HD
Sinclair Broadcast Group and Cox Communications June 5 said they had reached a four-year retransmission consent agreement that includes HD programming.
Under the agreement, cable systems owned by Cox will be allowed to carry nine Sinclair TV station signals in six markets. Together, the markets provide service to about 1.25 million unique subscribers.
The Cox deal completes Sinclair’s long-term retransmission consent agreements with multiple system operators in the markets it serves. The stations included in the agreement with Cox are: KVMY/KVCW in Las Vegas; KOKH/KOCB in Oklahoma City; WEAR/WFGX serving Pensacola, FL, and Mobile, AL; WTVZ in Norfolk, VA; WRLH in Richmond, VA; and WGGB in Springfield, MA.
