The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) recognized Canon Broadcast with two awards during its recent 148th Technical Conference and Exhibition in Hollywood, CA.
The SMPTE presented its Journal Award for the most outstanding paper of 2005 originally published in its Motion Imaging Journal to: Fumiaki Usui, manager of the Broadcast Equipment Development Center of Canon, in Utsunomiya, Japan; Jun Hosoya, senior general manager of Canon’s Broadcast Equipment Center and the deputy senior general manager of the Optics Technology R&D Center of Canon; Ken Ito, director of the Canon Broadcast and Communications Division, Ridgefield Park, NJ; and Laurence Thorpe, national marketing executive at the Canon Broadcast and Communications Division.
The paper, entitled “A New HD Digital Cine Zoom Lens for Digital Motion Pictures,” was published in the journal’s October/November issue.
