Snell & Wilcox will introduce a series of major enhancements, including new DVE capabilities, for its Kahuna SD/HD multiformat production switcher at NAB2008.
Other Kahuna enhancements include a quadrupling of the system's clip stores, enhanced third-party integration capabilities, VDCP control interfacing and a series of new auxiliary panels.
Snell & Wilcox also has improved IMPAKT, Kahuna's integrated 3-D DVE effects option, with the introduction of a series of new DVE models and a new technology called fluid effects, that enhances transition power. Fluid effects enable live video to be wrapped onto virtually any 3-D model without rendering in an external device.
The company also will rollout IMPAKT DVE Models version 4, which adds film effects, global lighting, flag waves and window blind effects to IMPAKT's DVE portfolio.
