Snelson receives SBE award

Joseph L. Snelson, Jr., CPBE, of Fairway, Kan., has been awarded a Society of Broadcast Engineers National Award for 2002.
All award recipients will be recognized during the SBE National Meeting, October 16-17 in Phoenix, Ariz. The ceremony will be held in conjunction with the SBE Chapter 9 Regional Convention.
Snelson has been an SBE member since 1978. He has been involved in television broadcasting for more than 30 years and currently serves as Vice President of Engineering/Broadcasting Group for Meredith Corporation.
In 2001, Snelson worked on the DTV rollout for eight of Meredith’s 12 stations, helped one of its stations move into a new facility and continued a long-time practice of developing cost-effective software.
Snelson has also been active in SBE Chapter 59 in Kansas City and is a member of the SBE National Certification Committee.
