Sonic Telecom has signed a three-year contract with ABC TV for the digital transmission of its news programming. Sonic's IP-based network replaces ABC's previous satellite-based contribution and distribution network.
ABC Television and its NewsOne network will use IP over Sonic's network to gather news segments from ABC News Bureau in Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and New York and make them accessible to ABC affiliates nationwide. ABC News Bureaus can upload news segments as soon as they are ready so that ABC affiliates can access daily programming at any time.
