Sony HDC camera chosen for HD studio in Vietnam
Vietnam Investment Technology Media (VIT Media) has invested in HDC-1400 Multi-format HD Camera Systems from Sony the major acquisition tool for its new HD studio. The investment lays the groundwork for VIT Media to transition its news production from standard definition to high definition operation, making it Vietnam's first HD studio.
Sony has supplied three HDC-1400 Multi-format HD camera systems setup in studio configuration on tripods, together with HDCU-1500 camera control units, HDVF-C730W multi-format HD colour LCD Viewfinders and RCP-750 remote control panels.
In addition to the HDC cameras, the company has also selected the HDV HVR-Z7P Digital HD video camera recorders, and HVR-S270P Digital HD video camera recorders to support its news gathering and field activities.
VIT Media began airing daily live programming in DVB-T on financial market coverage and business information this month. Its broadcasts are delivered via the government-owned Vietnam Television Corporation (VTC) channel. Although VIT Media says it has no immediate plans for HD programming, there are plans to provide HD content in the near future.
"Our aim was to create a production studio that is capable of producing quality programmes from SD to HD and Sony's HDC cameras ideally met all our requirements in terms of performance, functionality and price," said Dr Nguyen Chi Dung, President, VIT Media. "We are convinced by Sony not just due to the acclaimed performance of its acquisition tools but also because of its professional support team that ensure the smooth running of the adoption and operation of the HD cameras."
"We are very pleased to equip VIT Media with these high-end system cameras in setting the pace for their migration to HD while providing a seamless operation with their current SD infrastructure," said Mr Paul Maroni, Assistant General Manager, Broadcast and Content Creation Solutions Asia Pacific.
