Sony intros robotic video cameras

Sony Electronics has introduced a family of robotic pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) video cameras that can be used for a wide variety of video applications.


The EVI-D70/W offers 340-degree pan and 120-degree tilt capabilities for exceptional latitude, and an integrated 18X optical zoom lens to capture nearly every scene.

The latest model is the EVI-D70/W, which combines a 1/4 type, EXview HAD CCD with the flexibility of remote PTZ operation in a new white, compact body. It offers 340-degree pan and 120-degree tilt capabilities for exceptional latitude, and an integrated 18X optical zoom lens to capture nearly every scene. In addition, the EVI-D70/W features RS-232C/RS-422 interfaces for full remote control. A six-position preset allows for the rapid recapture of crucial viewing angles.

The EVI-D100 P/T/Z camera incorporates a 10X auto focus lens with a built-in conversion lens for a wide angle of view (65-degrees). The camera also incorporates 768x 494 effective pixels and a 50dB signal-to-noise ratio. Other features include auto focus, white balance and exposure as well as six position presets.

Measuring 4.5x 4.75x5.25 inches. and weighing 1lb. 15oz., the EVI-D100 is easy to install, even in space-restricted environments. It can be operated via a supplied remote commander unit, or by using an external computer via RS-232C interface.

The wireless SNC-RZ30N IP camera combines network functionality with remote-controlled pan, tilt and zoom capabilities for remote monitoring and Web-based attraction viewing applications. It comes equipped with a 10/100 base-T Ethernet interface, an integrated 25x optical auto-focus zoom lens, as well as two Type II PCMCIA slots for IEEE 802.11b compliant wireless PC cards or to expand the camera’s memory.
