Sony Pictures Entertainment creates HD graphics with Chyron HyperX HD
Sony Pictures Entertainment has installed two HyperX HD graphics systems from Chyron to support production of its "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy" game shows.
The systems, with Lyric PRO advanced creation and playout software, were installed as part of the programs' switch to HD production, post production and distribution. The HyperX systems provide a high-speed graphics engine, enabling creation of multilayer effects and transitions for logos, lower-thirds and real-time 2-D/3-D animation with 3-D object import.
Chyron's HyperX is scalable with up to two independent HD/SD channels, optional DVE, eFX Clips and Lyric PRO creation and playout. The system features creation-to-playout capability, real-time 2-D/3-D animation and includes 2-D and 3-D object import, advanced text and image effects, intelligent interface and DB Link update, and macro creation/execution.
Lyric PRO on the HyperX enables continuous graphics rendering, which allows persistent objects to remain on-screen throughout multiple message reads. Independent animation elements can be smoothly taken on-air and off-air at any time. Lyric PRO's dynamic playout environment works in tandem with graphics creation features, including live particle effects and complex and hierarchical animations-within-animations.
