Sony Pictures Uses Chyron HyperX HD for Game Shows
Sony Pictures Entertainment has installed Chyron HyperX HD graphics systems with Lyric PRO, to support production and post production on two U.S. game shows, "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!"
The systems were each installed as part of the programs' switch to full HD production, post production and distribution. The HyperX systems with Lyric PRO software provide Sony Pictures Entertainment with a high-speed graphics engine; enabling creation of multilayer effects and transitions for logos, lower thirds and real-time 2D/3D animation with 3D object import.
"We are delighted that Sony Pictures Entertainment has chosen the HyperX HD systems for these classic American game shows. Driven by Chyron's breakthrough interFuse Technology, Lyric PRO on the HyperX transforms broadcast workflow and play-out with unrivalled flexibility and stunning graphics," said Kevin Prince, Chyron's chief operating officer.
"Wheel of Fortune" first aired in the United States in 1975 and "Jeopardy!" began transmission in 1964. Both shows, which were created by Merv Griffin, launched in HD in 2006.
