Sony has received its 10th order from RTSI, Switzerland’s Italian-language broadcaster, for an HD-ready outside broadcast truck and an order from Tianjin TV for China’s first-ever HD OB vehicle.
RTSI, a subsidiary of the Swiss public broadcasting organization SRG SSR, will replace one of its three analog OB vehicles with a new, modular HD-ready unit, which is scheduled for completion early next year.
The HD OB vehicle designed for Tianjin TV is a 10-channel HD OB van with an eight-channel flight case system that allows for 18 HD channels in total. The mobile studio also features LUMA LCD color monitors, MVS-8000ASF multiformat switchers, HDC-950 FIT portable HD studio cameras, HDC-X310K HD multi-purpose cameras and an HDS-X3600 multiformat video switch matrix.
