Sprint Nextel Receives 30-Day Extension for 2 GHz Transition

published Last Friday (Jan. 4) the extension of the deadline for relocating 2 GHz broadcast auxiliary and cable TV relay links to frequencies above 2025 MHz was set to expire. On that date, the FCC issued an order extending the deadline now to Feb. 4, 2008.
The FCC, Sprint Nextel and users of the 1990–2110 MHz band are under pressure to vacate the 1990–2025 MHz portion of the band so that mobile satellite service (MSS) licensees can begin service in that band starting this year.
