Still no carriage deal between Mediacom and Sinclair
With a Jan. 5 deadline looming, it looks doubtful that a rebroadcast agreement will be reached between Mediacom, the cable operator, and Sinclair Broadcast Group.
Sinclair had been scheduled to revoke the right of Mediacom to rebroadcast its stations on Dec. 1. That deadline was extended to Jan. 5 to give the two sides more time to reach an agreement of a price for Mediacom to rebroadcast Sinclair stations.
Sinclair now expects Mediacom to discontinue carriage of 22 Sinclair stations in 16 markets on Jan. 6.
Stations impacted by the negotiations are in markets including Des Moines, IA; Mobile-Pensacola, FL; Madison, WI; Norfolk, VA; and Nashville, TN.
