Sutro Tower Plans Opposed
Proposed changes to antennas on Sutro Tower in San Francisco are facing opposition from neighboring Twin Peaks residents, according to a recent Examiner.com article.
According to the article, "Neighbors try to stop Sutro Tower antennas," Sutro Tower management was proposing to replace four lighter weight antennas with four significantly heavier and slightly taller antennas. Residents are worried about the effects of the new antennas, in addition to the existing antennas (there are a total of 185 according to the article) on the tower.
Robert McCarthy, the attorney representing Sutro Tower Inc. is quoted in the article saying the new additions are necessary to comply with Homeland Security provisions.
