TDF acquires SmartJog
TDF SA, a Paris-based provider of audiovisual, new media and broadband services to TV, radio and telecom operators, has acquired SmartJog, a global distributor of electronic media.
SmartJog, based in Paris and Los Angeles, has more than 400 connected electronic media distribution locations in 60 countries. The sites are connected via a global, hybrid IP backbone combining broadband satellite and Internet capabilities.
SmartJog’s media management service allows media owners to store their digitized assets in an electronic vault (with mirroring between the two data centers in Paris and Los Angeles), accessing them as a catalog and associating metadata to each asset.
TDF said SmartJog would continue to be run by its original founders as a stand-alone entity in Paris and Los Angeles. Broadcasters, studio and post-production facilities use its digital delivery network for the exchange of media.
TDF has more than 7500 sites under management, 3850 employees and broadcasts more than 450,000 hours of TV programs each day.
