TDK Debuts Blue Laser Disc

TDK has developed its first Blue Laser disc. The 23.3 GB media accommodates the 405 nm laser wavelength and high numerical aperture (.85) lenses used by Sony Professional Optical Disc Recording System equipment, such as camcorders and decks for broadcast news, and electronic field production environments. The Blue Laser disc format features Armor Plated coating and has a 72 Mbps data recording transfer rate. It debuts this week at IBC.
