Minerva Networks’ iTVManager video services management software in use by Ringgold Telephone includes an intuitive GUI displayed with the Amino set-top box.
Ringgold Telephone Company is a local exchange service provider serving 14,500 customers in Catoosa County, Georgia. It recently deployed Minerva Networks’ iTVManager video services management software and the Amino AmiNET 110 set-top box (STB) to offer IP-based advanced television services to an additional 2,200 subscribers.
The telco has been providing bundled voice, video and data services over its ADSL network since spring 2002. With hundreds of subscribers already online, Ringgold has experienced increased revenue and market penetration. In order to stay ahead of potential competition from local cable operators planning to offer voice and interactive video services, new subscribers will receive Amino set-top boxes running Minerva iTVManager software.
Phil Erli, general manager at Ringgold Telephone‚ said Minerva has made significant enhancements to their IP TV solution over the last six months, including integration to the Amino set-top box. “We believe the extremely small size of the AmiNET 110 and the video quality it produces will further differentiate our services from local cable and satellite operators.”
